Just 15 kilometers from the heart of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the Hoi quan xe co Sai Gon (Saigon Vintage Vehicles Club) is an ideal place for scooter aficionados and antique car lovers.

Set outdoors amongst verdant tropical plants and greenery, the Saigon Vintage Vehicles Club is also a great place to relax and escape the urban chaos.

Formerly the Suoi Mo eco-tourist area, the club is situated on 100 hectares of land and displays several different types of antique scooters, mopeds, motorbikes and cars such as the Volkswagen Beetle and Citroen DS, many of which were manufactured in the 1940s.

According to Thanh, a member of the Saigon Vintage Vehicles Club, the venue is ideal not only for scooter lovers, but also for any tourist who wants to learn more about antique vehicles in HCMC. Both locals and foreigners say the club is a great place to meet others who share a love for old cars and offers them a chance to exchange information.

Many of the vehicles are not only on display at the club but are also for sale. An antique Citroen for instance, is currently on sale for US$5,600.

In addition, a host of other activities and entertainment can be found there. To beat the summer heat, a 500-squaremeter swimming pool is available along with a restaurant, bar, tennis court and hotels, all situated in a natural setting.

To get to the Saigon Vintage Vehicles Club from HCMC, follow the Hanoi Highway from Saigon Bridge to reach Suoi Tien theme park, head straight for 600 meters and then turn right. Keep heading straight following the road signs for about 1.5 kilometers to reach Hoi quan xe co Sai Gon.

The club is located on Street 11, Long Binh Ward, District 9 near the Thu Duc golf course.
