Viet Nam tourism clip gets global audience

A clip promoting Viet Nam tourism has been broadcast twice a day on BBC television. It features a panorama of Viet Nam and its people.

This is the first time Viet Nam has promoted its national image globally through television.

To produce the programme, a production team from the BBC visited the country to shoot scenes and select music.

From a foreign point of view, Viet Nam’s landscapes are beautiful, the Vietnamese are friendly and Vietnamese culture is unique and diversified.

The 30-second clip highlights Vietnamese cooking, tricycles (xich lo), water puppets, the long gown (ao dai), Ha Noi architecture, Ha Long Bay and the floating market on the Mekong River.

Viewers have also been shown beautiful beaches in the central region, the customs of ethnic people in the northern hills and dynamic HCM City.

The clip has been broadcast on BBC World News channel at 6.45 and 21.20 since June 11. It is being shown for eight weeks in the Asia-Pacific region, six weeks in Europe and six weeks in North America.

This means the promotion will reach viewers in more than 200 countries and territories as summer holidays approach. The web address of Viet Nam tourism is www.vietnamtourism.com.

Besides attracting more tourists, the project is aimed at firming up Viet Nam’s integration with the rest of the world.
