The Dan Lai ethnic minority group numbers over 3,000 people. They are living in the mountainous area of Con Cuong district, Nghe An province in central Vietnam. This group is especially known for its sitting-sleeping custom. Nam Xuan shares his photos about Dan Lai people.

Nearly 1,000 Dan Lai people are living in Pung and Co Phat villages in Pu Mat National Park, Con Cuong district.

There is only one way to get to the villages: take a boat along the Giang River and Khang stream.

The sitting-sleeping custom to maintain vigilance for wild beasts still exists among the Dan Lai people.

At night, visitors sit around the fire listening to legends of Dan Lai people.

Dan Lai women often do the jobs of men, such as harvesting or catching fish.

Meanwhile, Dan Lai men stay at home to take care of their children.
