LookAtVietnam – Ninety-three bartenders from restaurants, hotels and resorts across the country are taking part in an annual contest opened on September 17,

The jury will select the winner in three categories: drink-mixing, bartending flair and costumes.

The contestants will make two kinds of cocktails of their from the contest’s list and serve a wine of their choice.

The contest aims to honour the bartending career and creates a valuable venue for Vietnamese bartenders to improve their skills and knowledge, said Tran Hung Viet, deputy general of the Saigontourist Holding Company and head of the contest’s organisation board.

The aim is also to find the best Vietnamese bartenders who will represent the country in international contests, he added.

This year’s contest will last until next Friday. The final round will be held at the Rex Hotel on September 25.

The Saigontourist Bartender Cup was initiated in 1999 to improve skills of bartenders from Saigontourist’s restaurants and hotels. In 2004, the contest was expanded to include bartenders from all restaurants, hotels and resorts in Viet Nam.
