LookAtVietnam – National carrier Vietnam Airlines has begun operating three new international and local flights this month from Ha Noi.

The new routes link the capital city with Fukuoka in Japan, Pleiku in the Central Highlands and Tuy Hoa in the central region.

The Ha Noi - Fukuoka route uses the Airbus A320 every Tuesday and Saturday.

After Tokyo and Nagoya, this is the third direct flight from Ha Noi to Japan that the airline offers. The carrier had set up a HCM City - Fukuoka direct link several years ago, also operating two flights a week.

Fukuoka city is the centre of Kuyshu, the fourth largest Japanese economic hub. The city shares a sibling status with Ha Noi since 2007.

For the two new local routes, Vietnam Airlines uses 79-seat Fokker 70 aircraft with one-way tickets priced between VND900,000 and 1.7 million (US$50-90).

The Ha Noi - Tuy Hoa route has three flights a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The flight takes an hour and 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, one and a half hour Ha Noi - Pleiku route has four flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. At the same time, Vietnam Airlines still maintains its Ha Noi - Pleiku route that transits at Da Nang City on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

With the two new local routes, the national carrier has 31 local flights from the three major cities of Ha Noi, HCM City and Da Nang to 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
