HCMC fest a feast of cuisines

The ongoing Taste of the World Festival 2009 is offering Ho Chi Minh City dwellers the opportunity to sample cuisines from more than 18 nations and territories around the world.

The festival, which started on Thursday and wraps up on Sunday, has attracted local and foreign participants including chefs, hotels, restaurants and hospitality firms from nations like Germany, France, Brazil, the US, and others. Consulates and diplomatic missions in the city are also taking part in the event.

Besides food stalls and cuisine competitions, the festival at the September 23rd Park in downtown HCMC hosts cultural activities including a rock concert tonight and folk art performances by participating nations.

The 4th annual festival is organized by the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations and other agencies.
