Da Nang receives over 750 foreign cruise passengers
The Saigontourist Travel Service Company welcomed more than 750 foreign tourists and crewmembers on the Amadea cruise ship at the Tien Sa port, Da Nang city on April 7.
Tourists, mostly from Germany, will join a tour of Da Nang City - Hoi An town - Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi district - My Tho city from April 7 to 9.
Visitors will go on sightseeing tours of place of interest in Da Nang city such as Ngu Hanh Son mountain, Tien Hieu marble village and Cham museum.
Travellers will continue to visit Hoi An ancient town, Thanh Ha pottery village, Cau (Bridge) pagoda, Phuc Kien pagoda, Hoi An museum and handicraft villages in Quang Nam province
As scheduled, the ship will dock at the Saigon port on April 9 to bring tourists to attractive destinations of Cu Chi tunnels, fishing villages in My Tho city and Tien Giang orchard gardens.
Saigontourist has received more than 20,000 European cruise passengers since the beginning of this year.
Ways to promote ASEAN tourism discussed
A seminar entitled ‘Co-operation in Developing Tourism within ASEAN’ has recently been held in Da Nang city by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
The seminar was aimed at boosting co-operation in regional tourism at the time when Vietnam officially undertook the role as ASEAN Chair.
Speeches delivered at the seminar focused on seeking measures and putting forth initiatives to further boost tourism co-operation, increase service quality and attract tourists within ASEAN region as well as those from the third country.
The seminal was also an opportunity for ASEAN members to exchange information and experience on dealing with obstacles facing the regional tourism in order to make ASEAN an attractive destination for tourists all over the world.
Saigontourist offers 100 new tours
100 new domestic tours have recently been launched by the Saigontourist Travel Service Company to welcome the South Vietnam’s Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day.
Over 1,300 tourists have signed up for these new tours. Most choose tours of Hung Kings Temple- Tam Dao, the resistance base of Tan Trao and the northeast region.
Notably, since April 1, Saigontourist has offered free upgraded insurance for domestic routes with maximum benefit of VND 60 million (around US$ 3,170) per person.
Hoi An ancient town to become eco-city
An international workshop aiming to find a model for Hoi An sustainable development is scheduled to be held from April 12-13, announced at a press conference in Hoi An ancient town on April 1.
The workshop, with the attendance of more than 30 scientists at home and abroad, will focus on discussing the liking between bio-diversity and culture so as to build Hoi An as an eco-city.
As Hoi An ancient town possesses two world heritages, the project on developing Hoi An is required to ensure the balance between bio-diversity and culture for the city’s sustainable development.
The upcoming workshop is expected to work out a plan on sustainable economic development for Hoi An and the vision to 2030. Accordingly, three years later, Hoi An will deploy its construction in conformity with this plan.
