Wearing the Vietnamese ao dai, 25 girls from many countries posed on the Southeast Asian Youth Ship.

They were selected from hundreds of youth representatives on the ship to participate in the Miss Ao Dai competition, held by Vietnamese representatives. Fifteen of them will be chosen through a poll to enter the final round in the “Vietnam Night” to be held on December 4.

In the final night, 15 girls will fashion ao dai’s with Vietnamese girls.

These ao dai were designed by designers Thuan Viet and Ngan An.

The Southeast Asian Youth Ship departed from Japan on October 25. It will travel through four Southeast Asian countries before arriving in Vietnam in early December. The journey will finish on December 16.

In Vietnam, the ship members will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and some historical relics in Hanoi, such as Quan Thanh temple, Khue Van Cac, etc.

Vietnamese members will introduce “1000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi” to the other ship members. Ship members will have home-stays with Vietnamese families to learn about Vietnamese culture.

The Vietnamese delegation will organize the “Vietnam Night” to introduce Vietnamese culture to the other Southeast Asian delegations.

The Vietnamese delegation includes 29 outstanding young people.

The Southeast Asian Youth Ship is the initiative of ASEAN and Japan. It has been organized annually since 1974.
