With the skills of two chefs from China on hand, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake in Hanoi is introducing 18 Sichuan dishes for gourmets who favor spicy cooking.

Both Abel Shuai and William Cheng are with the InterContinental Chongging in China.

The dishes, available for diners to enjoy during the three-week Sichuan cuisine promotion that runs until April 3, uses a wide range of chilies and peppers as main ingredients.

Sichuan people eat spicy food as they believe it will help them sweat out impurities and therefore whiten their skin.

Hanoian gastronomers and visitors can enjoy the Sichuan dishes at the Saigon Restaurant everyday or tuck into the Sunday buffet at Café du Lac.

Among the typical Sichuan dishes at Saigon Restaurant include Boiled Fish with Pepper Sauce, Marinated Beef and Beef Offal in Chili Sauce, Sautéed Diced Chicken with Chili Pepper and Dan Dan Noodle.

The restaurant and café are at the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake situated at 1A Nghi Tam Street, Tay Ho District.
