My Son- The Holy Land belonging to Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, about 69km away from Da Nang City, is the union of Cham Pa ancient walls in a 20km valley in diameter and is circled by mountains in there. This had been the place where donating activities of Cham people took place and also the royal tomb of successive Cham Kings. My Son towers was the main centre of Hinduism in the South - East zone and the unique kind of heritage in Vietnam. From the early nineties, My Son holy land was discovered and exhumed and considered as the precious ruins quite soon. In 1999, it was recognised as the heritage of the world by the UNESCO. Remarkably, it has been being seen as the typical example of cultural exchange and the unique evidence for the lost Asian civilization. My Son towers might be constructed in the 4th century. Not only Indian architecture but also culture had a strong impact on those of My Son( Cham) civilians, which represented the towers and temples overwhelming in resplendent past and, the Phan letters on very old targets… Ever since being discovered and introduced, My Son has welcomed many tourist arrivals from all over the world and has seen the great surprise and interest of them all. In the near future, Quang Nam authority and tourism department will place new policies to attract international travellers and at the same time, invest to reserve this invaluable cultural heritage. |
