Coming to Da Lat, wandering along Huynh Thuc Khang street, visitors will have an opportunity to see an extremely special house named “ Crazy House”- so unique is an architecture that it was voted by People’s daily as one of the most bizarre houses in the world.

Crazy house was constructed in 1990 on the campus of 1900 square kilometer in width. It is now located at 3 Huynh Thuc Khang, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province. The owner is a Dr and architect Ms Dang Viet Nga.

She really loves Da Lat and it is the sights and the hospitality of the local people here that had a strong influence in her idea to built this special house. Through this, she strongly hoped that her “ mental child” could possibly make people much closer to the natural. Moreover, she really wanted her work could partly contribute to the Viet Nam tourism in general.

The initial name of this construction was “ Hang Nga villa”, but it was sooner changed into “ Crazy House” as it is called today.

Constructors didn’t apply any architecture style to this house, which made it unique and not confused with any another works. From the outside view, it looks like a mass of  rough stock of a very big old tree, with many bumpy cubes, sudden bends and also lots of peculiar shapes...

The inside outrageously draw visitors’ curiosity with unexpectedly meander ladders, many strange- shaped rooms like hollows, Haloween pumpkins, and a number of wild animals such as polar bears, tigers, kanguroo, and even eagles, so on... What people expect when entering the rooms are the feelings of strange, mysterious but really warmly- welcomed.

From these rooms, tourists can also enjoy their time seeing the peaceful scenery of Da Lat- the most romantic city in Viet Nam.
