Visitors to the central city of Da Nang will be treated to a fireworks show by the Han River this summer.

The fifth international fireworks competition will be themed Colours of Da Nang, and is scheduled to take place on April 29 and 30. The five international teams - Canada, China , France, Italy and Viet Nam - have all won previous championships.

Besides the fireworks displays, other major tourism draw cards include the cooking festival, artistic performances, fashion shows or take part in beach sports.According to Vietnam travel companies, these events always attract many tourists.

Three temporary stands will be built to host 25,000 spectators, and about 16,000 fireworks tickets priced between VND200,000-300,000 (US$9-14) will be sold in Da Nang, Ha Noi and HCM City.

Tickets can also be purchased for boats, to enjoy the display from the water. Only tourist boats with approved safety levels, will be permitted to host fireworks audiences, and prices will be capped at $14 per person, per show.

So far 24 enterprises have registered to sponsor the event, which has been hosted by the city each year from 2008.
