Present were leaders of the Southwestern Region Steering Committee, provincial authorities and thousands of Kinh, Hoa and Cham ethnic people.

The event attracted 650 musicians, actors and athletes of the Khmer community, living mainly in the five districts of Tri Ton, Tinh Bien, Chau Thanh, Thoai Son and Chau Phu in An Giang.

The highlights of the festival include a photographic exhibition on the daily lives of the Khmer community, a cooking festival and sports games.

The festival will go on until April 18.
