The photos were provided by Japan’s Nihon Denpa News (NDN), the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Youth Pioneers) Newspaper.

In December 1964, NDN officially established a correspondence office in Vietnam and became the only foreign broadcaster covering news about the war from the northern side.

NDN has produced over 2,000 documentary films, reports and photos about Vietnam.

Vietnam Television bought the copyrights to the only colour film of late President Ho Chi Minh's funeral from NDN in 2008 and broadcast it on the country’s 63^rd National Day and Uncle Ho’s 39^th death anniversary.

The Kim Dong Publishing House also owns the rights to NDN’s 2,000 photos taken during the war in the country from 1965-1975.

As part of the exhibition, the publishing house is also showcasing some of the books it printed in the 1964-1972 period.
