Ballet impresses audience in Autumn Melody

VietNamNet Bridge – The perfect performances of ballet dancers were warmly cheered by big salvos of applause in the opening night of the “Autumn Melody” annual concert at the HCM City Theater on August 18.

Pianist Le Thanh Thao performed the Concerto No.4, I.Allegro Moderato by Beethoven.

The concert opened with a moving piece of music by famous composer Nguyen Van Thuong, “Returning to the Motherland.” After that, overseas Vietnamese instrumentalists went on stage to play their best for the audience.

Pianist Le Thanh Thao played Concerto No.4 by L.V. Beethoven with a choir. Violinist Ho Dang Hoi performed the Concerto D-Major by P. Tchaikovsky. The show also had sweet melodies contributed by violinists Le Thu Quynh and Le Thu Thao, grandchildren of the famous composer Van Cao, the author of the Vietnamese national anthem, and the conductor Nguyen Anh Son.

However, the highlight of the concert was classical and modern ballets which took place after the music. Dancers The Chung, Minh Tu, Thanh Thao, Lan Anh won big rounds of applause after the first classical ballet entitled “La Bayadere.”

After that, the young dancer Vu Ngoc Khai from Germany and Ta Thuy Chi performed a modern dance about a girl’s brave dream in “Dream.”

The concert ended with a modern dance named “Move” by dancers from the HCM City Conservatory of Music.

The second night of Autumn Melody took place on August 19 with the presence of oboist Dang Phu Vinh, who is studying in the US, and the young pianist Tran Yen Nhi.
