Miss Vietnam World 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan presented the crown to VPBank director Nguyen Hung.

The right to present the crown was auctioned off at a party in Nha Trang on August 19. Hundreds of guests, artists, businessmen and 41 contestants attended the party.

Four companies joined the auction, including Eurowindow, Zela – the crown manufacturer, Ba Na Telpher Service Company and VPBank. The price for the crown rose from 200 million dong ($10,500) to 1.10 billion dong ($58,000). Nguyen Hung, the winner, said he was very glad because the organizing board would donate the money to charity.

At this party, the organizing board named 11 contestants for the Miss Photo competition, including: Lưu Thị Diễm Hương, Phạm Thúy Vy Victoria, Hồ Thị Oanh Yến, Nguyễn Thu Mây, Nguyễn Phương Mai, Vũ Thị Lan, Nguyễn Thanh Huyền, Nguyễn Ngọc Kiều Khanh, Phan Thị Mơ, Ngụy Thanh Lan and Vũ Phạm Diễm My.

Two hosts of the final night – Anh Tuan and Jennifer Pham – are now in Vinpearl Land to prepare for the show.

The beauty queen of Miss Vietnam Global 2010 pageant for Vietnamese girls around the world will forever own their crown, inlaid with gemstones worth 1 billion dong (over $52,000).

Based on the artistic theme of the pageant “Sea Beauty, Lotus Fragrance, Vietnamese Soul,” craftsmen made the crown in 1000 hours. The crown looks like a lotus blossom, with each petal in the shape of wave. The crown is inlaid with 606 diamonds and amethyst of 2-12 carats and an 8×12 carat amethyst is its highlight.

Apart from the valuable crown, the winner will also receive 500 million dong of cash ($26,000) and many valuable gifts.

The finale will take place at Vinpearland, Nha Trang City on August 21.
