VietNamNet Bridge – A businessman named Duc is widely known as the first man in Vietnam who successfully bred bears and for other of his odd hobbies.

Duc has a vast farm of over 21 hectares, where he breeds turtles, crocodiles, catfish, bears and wild pigs. The farm also has caves and romantic roads and what is even more interestinga special catacomb for its owner.

He traveled through Vietnam, and then went to China and India to learn the embalmment techniques.

He hired 30 artisans to work for over three years to build two stone catacombs in the peak of a mountain in Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province, as the future tombs for him and his wife. The catacombs are a dozen of meters deep, with a road for wagons to get into. Everything needed for the embalmment arealso in the catacombs.

Duc didn’t reveal how much his investment in the catacombs was but it is said to be counted in millions of US dollars.

Duc said embalmment is difficult and he considers is a challenge.. He was 70 when he built the catacombs.

The man is also known as the owner of a unique item – a 4000-year-old piece of wood. It has been carved to become a bed and furniture.

However, Duc is most proud to own a 21.4 hectare farm in Luong Son, Hoa Binh province. The farm has lakes to breed crocodiles, turtle, catfish, big cages for pregnant bears, pigs, chickens, vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers. He also bought big rocks to carve into caves and build romantic roads in the farm.

Duc said the farm is the results of ten years of creativity and labor. “Ten years ago, people said I was a mad man when I left Hanoi for this farm. But thanks to this farm, I’m now very healthy and happy,” he said.
