After the promulgation of the 2000 Enterprise Law that
permitted all kinds of business that are not prohibited law, a lot of new and
strange services have been born. VietNamNet would like to introduce the
strangest services which were marketed in 2010.

The service of seeking and insuring love for clients

The rapid development of the information technology has led to the mushrooming
of the websites which serve as “matchmakers”, including www.noi.vn and
www.henantrua.vn. With the motto “helping you seek lovers”, the websites have
been trying to connect those people who really need lovers, and making it easier
for people to meet and date. The service has been attracting more and more young
people.

After finding suitable friends or lovers, the clients can arrange meetings
themselves and make dates. However, after they connect with each other, they do
not need the “matchmaking” service any more. Now what they need is the service
of insuring love. “Everything in our live can be insured, including love, why
not?”

Mat Troi Viet Sunvico, the service provider has become well known in Vietnam.
For using the service, every couple has to pay fee one time of 600,000 dong-3
million dong. A lot of young couples have been using this kind of services,
hoping that their love will be solid.

Riding horses on Red River bank – the new pleasure of Hanoians

Hiring horses for clients to ride, the first service of its kind in the north,
has been drawing many clients to the Red River bank (the area located in Nghia
Tan ward in Tay Ho district in Hanoi). The owner of the horses is Ho Thanh Binh
in Me Linh district in Hanoi. Binh said he has been indulging in riding horses
and he has been cherishing the plan of renting horses to clients for a long
time.

A lot of couples and young people have come to ride horses and take pictures
with the horses.

The horses here for rent all have been domesticated, trained well and they are
very gentle. With just 20,000 dong, people can sit on the back of the horses and
ride them for 15-20 minutes. The clients can ride themselves or ask for the help
from the service provider.

Binh and his horses have been invited to act in the film about Ly King. He has
revealed a plan to organize horse races in Hanoi, the same model as the one in
Lao Cai province or buffalo fight in Hai Phong City.

The strange cafes

These are called the “cafes with no lamps” which are located in small alleys.
The cafes have been attracting many people simply because they provide “private
spaces” to lovers. The prices of drinks here are very “reasonable”, at
35,000-45,000 dong per glass.

Many people have called for authorities to take actions to remove the cafes,
warning that these are the sources of social evils.

Strange services appear on the longest boulevard in Vietnam

After the Thang Long boulevard in Hanoi, the longest boulevard in Vietnam was
open for traffic, a lot of strange services have appeared. The reason behind the
strange services is the unclear traffic road signs.

A signboard shows the way to Thach That, but a person said he could not find the
place after two hours of following the way shown on the signboard. The unclear
road signs have confused many people. Therefore, they have to use services
provided by local residents. The residents provide wooden ladders to help people
overcome barriers, or help call for repair service when vehicles get broken
down. For every time of using such strange services, people have to pay 40,000
dong.
