100 couples kissed each other on a balloon at a Valentine Festival held on Anh Sao bridge in HCM City on February 13 evening.

Imported from the West, the Valentine Day has become a festival of Vietnamese young people. This year, many events for couples are organized in big cities in Vietnam – Hanoi, Hai Phong, HCM City. The most remarkable event is the “Valentine of Century Night” in HCM City.

At this festival, 100 selected coupled received interesting gifts. Boys presented girls a bouquet of 999 green roses. Each couple enjoyed a love song played at their requests. The luckiest girl received a diamond ring from Cupid, the god of love.

To join this festival, 99 couples participated in a competition, in which they had toto tell their love stories as impressively as they could. The last ticket was auctioned and a couple bought it at the price of VND9 million ($450).

Ten photographers took pictures of wonderful moments of love and kisses on the balloon for an exhibition on February 14.

In related news, the kissing competition in Hai Phong was canceled because the local authorities didn’t licence the event.
