Published: 25/02/2011 05:00
The stage at Ha Noi’s Opera House will host twin French pianists Isabelle and Florence Lafitte next Tuesday. The piano duo will play pieces by French and Russian composers Claude Debussy, Alexandre Glazouvov, Maurice Ravel and Nicola Rimski Korsakov. The twins graduated from the National Music Conservatory of Lyon. Then they completed their training at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. The group received the first prize at the International Music Video Competition in Tokyo in 1987 and won an honourary award at the International Murray Dranoff competition in Miami two years later. They have appeared on stage with many famous orchestras in Asia and Europe, such as the National Orchestra of France, Orchestra Philharmonique of Hong Kong and the Belgian National Orchestra. The piano duo will perform in Ha Noi and HCM City on March 1&4 at 8pm. Tickets are priced at VND100,000 and a 50 per cent discount will be available for students and French Cultural Centre members. Tickets can be purchased at 24 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi and 112 Nguyen Du, Dist 1, HCM City. Source: VNS |
