VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi authorities on March 1 assigned over ten departments to be involved in the treatment process of the iconic turtle in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem Lake.

The treatment process is scheduled to last for 100 days.

The Department of Science and Technology is responsible for treating the turtle and improving water quality in Hoan Kiem Lake.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is in charge of catching the turtle and bringing him to the Turtle Tower for treatment.

Dr. Ha Dinh Dinh, who has conducted research of the turtle for over 20 years, will oversee the treatment process.

The Department of Construction is responsible for cleaning the lake, a job that must be completed before March 20.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is told to test and observe the water quality in the specialized tank where the turtle will live during the treatment process.

The Council for Treating the Turtle includes Nguyen Huy Dang, Vice director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development who is also a veterinarian doctor, Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Department of Health and experts from the Department of Science and Technology, Hanoi Dermatology Institute, Central Burn Hospital, Agriculture University, Institute for Aquaculture.

On March 1, workers from the Hanoi Urban Environment Company built ground around the Turtle Tower in the center of Hoan Kiem Lake.

The treatment process is scheduled to last for 100 days.
