VietNamNet Bridge – Using the body language, nine young dancers of the Big Toe hip-hop troupe successfully performed “Faces” at Hanoi Youth Theatre on February 25.

“Faces” is about the lives of the modern youth. Nine hip-hop dancers acted the parts

of nine characters, not distinguished as leading or supporting characters. The show opened

with the scene in which nine actors received their masks. The message is that the

people now live affectedly. They want to hide the truth about themselves so they need masks.

Dancers performed with masks in the entire show, to symbolize the observation that

“Some people live with sham their whole lives”.

The play also criticizes the youth’s self-indulgent lifestyle such as excessive drinking.
