On April 19, VietNamNet Newspaper and the Hanoi Young Artists’ Association gave to the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi, more than VND680 million ($34,000) in donations for victims of quakes and tsunamis in Japan.

On March 31, VietNamNet organized the “Be Strong, Japan!” music and fashion show at the Hanoi Drama Theatre, 42 Trang Tien, Hanoi. The show was a big success, which touched the audience’s hearts and showed the unity and sharing of Vietnamese people to Japan. Through the show, VND340 million had been raised.

In another show entitled “Japan – The Sharing”, organized by VietNamNet and the Hanoi Young Artists Association, Hanoi comedians and singers devoted a great performance on March 30 in Hanoi.

Artists donated their honorarium and called for the support of Vietnamese business and people to Japan.

Ms. Yukiko Matsuyoshi, officer in charge of culture at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, told VietNamNet: “The disasters of quakes and tsunamis in Japan occurred over one month ago, but the consequences are still huge and complicated. Japan has tried its best to overcome it. Charity assistance from Vietnam will help Japanese overcome difficulties to stabilize their lives”.

The message at the gate of the Japanese Embassy: “Thanks from the bottom of our hearts to the valuable assistance of Vietnamese people, and international friends to victims of natural disasters in Japan” are the grateful words of sharing from Vietnamese.

VietNamNet will organize the second “Be Strong, Japan!” show in HCM City this weekend to raise fund for Japan.
