In a clip named “Cat Bui” (Sand and Dust), the student named Mai Quoc Viet, and his two friends – Khac Tuan and Duc Thao – members of the It’s Time troupe, sang late composer Trinh Cong Son’s “Cat Bui.”

In the clip, Viet performed the song, mimicked the voice of 12 famous singers, including Khanh Ly, Tuan Ngoc, Dam Vinh Hung, Lam Truong, Duy Manh, Phuong Thanh, Ung Hoang Phuc, Khanh Phuong, Che Linh, Phan Dinh Tung, People’s Artist Thu Hien, and even the saxophone sound by famous saxophonist, Tran Manh Tuan, at a café in Hanoi on April 19.

The clip was uploaded on YouTube last week and it has immediately become a big hit. The clip was commented as “wonderful”, “unbelievable”, “incredible”, etc. Some praised Viet’s show as “Vietnam’s Got Talent”.

Viet, 23, is a student at Hong Bang University in Ho Chi Minh City. He entered the finale of the Sao Mai (Morning Star) singing contest 2008 in the southern region and won the second prize of the competition to sing Trinh Cong Son’s song in HCM City.

“I hope that “Sand and Dust” will be the door for “It’s Time” to come to the audience,” said Viet.
