Cam Ranh Sugar Refinery in the southern
province of Khanh Hoa was found to have exceeded its pollution limits, according
to the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment.

Pollution levels were 8.5 times higher than
permitted. The violation has been reported to the province’s People’s Committee
on Tuesday after three environmental inspections of the factory.

Local households have also filed
compensation claims after large amounts of fish in Cam Ranh Bay were poisoned by
factory’s waste emissions.
