Over 22,000 readers have asked La Thanh Huyen to return the 21st Woman prize after VietNamNet published the article about Huyen’s cheongsam at an international meeting.

Of over 22,000 readers, only 8 percent said that the 21st Woman title holder’s cheongsam is only the matter of fashion; 17 percent are willing to forgive Huyen because her act is reckless; 28 percent say that costumes show one’s nationality overseas; up to 45 percent say Thanh Huyen should return the title.

A reader named Linh wrote: “Huyen actually doesn’t have national spirit. Wherever and whenever she wears cheongsam, I don’t respect this “21st Woman”. Our comment is not nitpicking of her private life. She is a person of the public so she is the asset of the public. We have the right to make comment of this issue”.
