With marks of 99.9, Truong Manh Tue has become the top laureate of Homebush High School in New South Wales, Australia, for the 2010 graduation exams. This is the highest point earner to enter a university in Australia.

Out of nearly 1000 foreign students in state high schools in Australia, Tue is the only one who scored that mark. It is also very rare to have a native student record such a mark. Tue was recruited by the medical faculty of a famous university in Sydney in early 2011.

Before going to Australia, he was a pupil of the Minh Duc Junior Secondary School in District 1, HCM City.

The Australian Education and Training Ministry presented a certificate of merit to Tue in late February for his good achievements in studies and social activities at his school. New South Wales has 48 foreign students who received the certificate, including 9 from Vietnam.

Diane Seath, Director of the Center for International Students under the Australian Ministry of Education and Training in New South Wales said that “Vietnamese students not only study well, but also are very enthusiastic in social activities.”

Earlier, three Vietnamese students scored the highest marks in the graduation exams of New South Wales. “Their marks were higher than the native students,” Seath said.
