Bird flu spreads to ninth province

| Bird flu has spread to the central province of Khanh Hoa, infecting 50 fowl, the provincial Department of Animal Health said Thursday, raising to nine the total number of bird flu-hit provinces across the country. |
| The department confirmed that it culled the fowl raised by a household in Dac Loc Village in Nha Trang Townâs Vinh Phuong Commune after samples collected from the poultry tested positive for the A H5N1 bird flu virus. The household had raised the poultry in a separate area, the department said, adding the virus was unlikely to spread. Reported by Thanh Nien staff |
