Hundreds contract strange disease in central region

| Two people from the central province of Quang Nam have been admitted to the Hanoi Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital with unexplained illnesses, the director of the provinceâs hospital said Wednesday. |
| Director Tran Ngoc Phap said Chau Minh Hanh, 34 and Le Van Dung, 23, are among hundreds of patients who have been treated unsuccessfully for unidentifiable diseases at hospitals in Quang Nam Province and other central provinces for more than a year. The patients, most of whom work mining gold, were initially diagnosed with tuberculosis but have failed to respond to traditional treatment, doctors said. Reported by Ho Trong |
