The Steering Board for Food Hygiene and Safety under the Health Ministry launched in Hanoi Saturday a month of action (April 15-May 15) to promote cooking hygiene and safety.

The campaign aims to raise the role and responsibility of management agencies, businesses and consumers in guaranteeing food hygiene and safety, the ministry says.

The Health Ministry should cooperate actively with related ministries and sectors to efficiently develop activities guaranteeing food hygiene and safety, said Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan at the launching ceremony.

The ministry should rapidly complete and submit to the government and the National Assembly a draft Law on Food that deals with hygiene and safety management in the new period, she added.
