Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu (R) visits Hanoi’s first influenza A patient early June.

The Health Ministry on Thursday reported 15 more cases of influenza A virus raising the country’s total to 181.

Thirteen of the cases were detected in the south, one in the north, and one in the central region.

An unspecified number of those patients have been confirmed to come from overseas on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Ministry of Health said Thursday on its website.

Hanoi has laid out plans to cure all swine flu patients found in the capital as well as to limit the disease’s impact on the economy and daily life in the area.

Hanoi authorities will strengthen their task force to monitor the flu in the city and its vicinity, and constantly update residents with information on the flu.

As of Thursday, influenza A (H1N1) has infected 77,201 people in 120 countries and territories, and claimed 322 lives, according to the latest figures from the World Health Organization.
