Authorities in southern Vietnam closed four more schools on Monday after another 16 students tested positive for influenza A (H1N1).

The provinces reported to have new cases included Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, meanwhile, said on the same day they had removed temporary clinics at Hoa Binh Private High School in Tan Binh District and Quoc Van-Sai Gon School in Binh Thanh District, as infected students treated there have recovered.

So far, the city has set up four makeshift hospitals at local schools.

On Monday, 59 new cases of H1N1 infection were reported nationwide, increasing the country’s tally to 2,073 with two deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.
