All measles vaccines in Vietnam are now made locally, a deputy health minister said Friday.

After four years carrying out vaccine production improvement project, medicine production and research center POLYVAC now makes enough high quality measles vaccines to meet national demand, which requires ten kinds of vaccines, deputy minister of health Cao Minh Quang told a meeting.

Quang said vaccine production would continue to improve in Vietnam according to World Health Organization standards. He said the country aimed to eventually export the vaccines.

POLYVAC will strive to lower the price of the vaccine on the domestic market.

The center is carrying out research to produce rubella vaccine, as well as vaccines for the H5N1 and H1N1 virus.
