Vietnam’s first online exchange of drugs, to be opened at the end of this month, will help pharmaceutical companies expand cooperation and encourage consumption of domestic products, project initiators say.

Thirty percent of the registered companies are foreign ones, he added.

Vietnam currently imports 50 percent of drugs in the market. The domestic drug manufacturing sector aims to meet 60 percent of local demand by 2010 and 70 percent by 2015.
