The Viet Nam Leather and Shoe Research Institute is currently selling six models of shoes for people with diabetes. These products are the research results from 2010 - 2012 by the institute. There are three models of shoes for women and three for men sold at the Institute and the National Hospital of Endocrinology

These types of shoe are evaluated as suitable for people with mild diabetes, contributing to reducing foot complications. The shoes have a round and thick toe-cap, creating space for the toes, limiting foot compression to avoid damage to the skin and blood vessels, and the shoe opening is wider than normal shoes to be easy to put o­n.

Joints and fragments are limited o­n the cap and linings of the shoes, while the lining is soft and removable. Shoes are sterilized and deodorized to avoid odor and disease, keeping the foot dry and clean. Light shoe weight and low natural rubber soles help people using the shoes not get tired feet.

Therefore, people with diabetes using the shoes will limit compression and pressure o­n the feet, avoiding damage to the skin and blood vessels. In particular, diabetes patients can easily adjust the shoes to fit their feet; avoid damage and scratches to the skin of the feet when walking; minimizing the risk of injury o­n the foot.
