Concluding a four-day visit to Russia, President Nguyen Minh Triet left St. Petersburg Wednesday to fly to Mongolia for a two-day visit at the invitation of Mongolian counterpart Nambaryn Enhkbayar.

Earlier, the president had met with St. Petersburg Governor V. Matvyenko and talked to lecturers and students at St. Petersburg University.

On hand to witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Binh Duong University, President Triet said education and training was one of the topics he had discussed during talks with President Medvedev earlier.

He expressed hope the Russian university would closely cooperate with Binh Duong University, expand its connection with other Vietnamese schools and open branches in Vietnam.

During his stay in the city, President Triet visited the Hermitage Museum and Ekaterina Palace and also gave interviews to ITAR-TASS news agency and Russian Sevodnia magazine.

President Triet will be visiting Mongolia from October 30-31 to increase cooperation in a number of areas, with a special focus on two-way trade and political collaboration at regional and international forums.
