VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam has a shortage of judicial officers after three years of performing a strategy of judiciary renovation. The Deputy PM requires the Ministry of Justice to raise the quality of training for judicial officers to a higher level.

363 claims relating to civil law enforcement and 14 applications of accusation have not been solved as of 2008, according to reports.

The Ministry of Justice blamed the delay on the weakness of law enforcement offices. Several verdicts are said to be unclear and unpractical, causing difficulty for officers to have defendants enforced the verdicts.

Quality of training for judicial officers is now considered to temporarily settle the shortage, said the Ministry. The unenthusiastic behavior of officers is also blamed for the slowdown.

A low salary and bad allowances for officers in the judicial branch of the government are said to cause officers to not focus much on their jobs.
