VietNamNet Bridge - As many as 22 overseas Vietnamese in France were presented with the certificates of merits at a ceremony held in the Embassy of Vietnam in Paris for their significant contributions to community development and national construction and defence.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the State Commission on Overseas Vietnamese, Nguyen Thanh Son affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State had always acknowledged and appreciated the active contributions made by overseas Vietnamese in France.

He informed them of the new guidelines and policies issued by the Party and State in favour of overseas Vietnamese.

He pointed to the fact that overseas Vietnamese are an inseparatable part of the nation and an important factor to strengthen co-operation and friendship between Vietnam and other countries.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Son and Ambassador to France Le Kinh Tau encouraged overseas Vietnamese to make further contributions to national development and to foster relations and co-operation between the two countries.

Representatives of the recipients and from the Vietnamese Association in France expressed their gratitude to the Party and State’s care for the overseas Vietnamese community and were delighted with the changes in the country.

They promised to make further contributions to Vietnam’s development in the coming period.
