VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnamese Government has fruitfully curbed inflation, stabilized macro-economy, ensured social security in the era of global economic recession, said Lao Deputy PM Somsavat Lengsavad.

The Lao Standing Deputy PM made the statement while meeting his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung today in Hanoi.

Briefing Vietnam’s socio-economic development in the recent time, Deputy PM Hung said that Vietnam continues to rein in inflation, prevent economic recession, and maintain macro-economy and social security.

The host showed his pride in the country’s FDI doubling against 2007 and the export increase of 39% in the first three trimesters.

Lao Deputy PM Somsavat Lengsavad stated that Laos wants to cement and deepen cooperation with Vietnam in all fields.

With the current economic growth rate of 7.9%, the Lao Government is trying to enhance the development of health care, education and on-demand training, said the guest.
