VietNamNet Bridge - The National Assembly called upon the entire people and the overseas Vietnamese community to make greater efforts and join hands in promoting socio-economic development in 2009 and fruitfully realizing the five-year plan 2006-2010.

After 26 working days, the 12th NA wrapped up its 4th meeting session Saturday.

During the entire sitting period, the legislative body held thorough discussions on the fulfillment of socio-economic tasks and State budget in 2008 as well as the 2009 plan.

The NA also focused on law making, supervision work and some other important issues.

Eight laws and eight resolutions were passed in order to further perfect the legal system, facilitating the socio-economic development and international economic integration.

Through interpellations, the NA listened to seven ministers’ answers to various hot issues and to the PM’s additional report clarifying queries about the Government’s performance.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong stressed that, the legislature will further renovate and improve its operations in the time to come.

At the same time, he urged all organizations, agencies, individuals and NA deputies to immediately put the laws and resolutions approved by the NA into reality, creating a high unanimity to speed up national construction and protection.

The NA called upon the entire people and the overseas Vietnamese community to make greater efforts and join hands in fulfilling the duties set in 2008, so as to lay the foundation for the successful realization of the 2009 plan and the five-year plan 2006-2010.
