Russian diplomat hails Vietnam-Russia strategic dialogue

The first Vietnam-Russia strategic dialogue that took place in Hanoi on November 6 is useful and Russia will actively make preparation for next meeting with Vietnam early next year, said a Russian diplomat.

At the meeting between Vietnam’s permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Russia’s first Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisove, the two sides discussed a number of global issues, focussing on the Asia-Pacific region.

Speaking to Russian news agency (Itar-Tass), first Deputy FM Denisov affirmed that Vietnam is one of the key countries in the region, especially in ASEAN and the ASEAN Security Forum. Russia, as an ASEAN’s partner, hopes to consolidate the link between it and these mechanisms where Vietnam is playing an important role, he added.

The Russian diplomat also spoke highly of mutual help between Hanoi and Moscow in the framework of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

Previously, in a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, Deputy FM Denisov stressed that Russia hoped to involve in developing the nuclear energy sector in Vietnam and the two countries will boost cooperation in trade and economy in the coming time

Congratulations on Cambodia’s National Day

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong have extended congratulations to their Cambodian counterparts on Cambodia’s 55th National Day (Nov. 9).

In their messages sent to King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of Cambodian Senate Chea Sim and President of Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin, the Vietnamese top leaders praised the achievements recorded by the Cambodian people over the past years.

They hoped that the Cambodian people will make further achievements for development, peace and prosperity in the country.

Deputy PM cum Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem also sent greetings to Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong, on the occasion

Young Vietnamese, Cambodians talk cooperation

A meeting between young people from the southern province of Dong Thap and Prey Veng province of Cambodia wrapped up on Nov. 8 in Dong Thap.

The three-day meeting, the first of its kind, was held to boost solidarity between young people of the two countries, particularly those of the two provinces, in order to build their common border into a border of peace, friendship, stability and sustainable development.

The two sides held talks on cooperation and friendship between young people of the two provinces, and shared experiences in organising activities for young people.

They also visited well-performing businesses run by young people in La Vung and Tam Nong districts and take part in cultural and art activities.

OV committee delegation visits Germany

A delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thanh Son has wrapped up its six-day working visit to Germany .

At a working session with the Vietnamese embassy in Germany, Son, who is COVA president, pointed out new policies of Vietnamese Party and State to implement the Resolution 36 of the Politburo which affirms that “the overseas Vietnamese is an integral part of the nation”.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Tran Duc Mau updated the delegation with information about the Vietnamese community in the country, saying that it has help promote the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

The COVA delegation also worked with Vietnam Consulate General in Frankfurt and overseas Vietnamese in the western states of Germany.
