Sympathy for Vietnamese in Czech over fire losses

VietNamNet Bridge - Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung on November 7 expressed his sympathies to the Vietnamese community in Prague in the Czech Republic, over the great losses as a result of a huge blaze at the Sapa Trade Centre.
“We are saddened by the report that a fire broke out at the Sapa Trade Centre in Prague, the Czech Republic, on November 6, causing huge losses to the Vietnamese community there,” Dung said in response to reporters’ queries regarding the accident. “We hope that the overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic will uphold the spirit of mutual affection, assisting each other to overcome the difficulties and quickly return to their normal lives,” he elaborated. The spokesman praised the Prague government’s efforts to stamp out the fire and support the affected Vietnamese. Immediately after the fire broke out, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic and embassy staff visited the site to co-ordinate with the centre managers and firefighters to help people overcome the aftermath and give assistance to the victims of the blaze. According to Dung, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic to work closely with local relevant agencies and the association of Vietnamese people in the country to take prompt measures to assist the sufferers. On the same day, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese sent a message of sympathy to overseas Vietnamese who have conducted business at the Sapa Trade Centre. (Source: VNA/ND) |
