Vietnam attaches importance to developing friendly and mutually-beneficial ties with African nations, including the Central African Republic, President Nguyen Minh Triet has said.

The president made the statement while receiving the visiting Foreign Minister of the Central African Republic, Dieudonne Kombo Yaya, in Hanoi Tuesday.

Triet applauded the Central African Republic’s initiative to establish tripartite cooperation with Vietnam and the International Francophone Organization.

He stressed that Vietnam is willing to boost bilateral cooperation with the Central African Republic and share its experiences in ensuring cooking security.

Minister D.K. Yaya said the aim of the visit is to discuss the tripartite cooperation model and to demonstrate his country’s desire to enhance ties with Vietnam.

Yaya said people in the Central African Republic still lead difficult lives despite the country having rich natural resources and he wished to establish collaboration with Vietnam, particularly in the fields of agriculture and healthcare, to better his citizens’ lives.
