Russian and Vietnamese agencies launched an archeological research cooperation program by surveying Vietnam’s Cat Tien Archeological Site and visiting Lam Dong Museum over the last two days.

The activities were carried out by a group of archeologists from Russia’s Institute for the History of Material Culture and experts from Vietnam’s Southern Institute of Sustainable Development.

The group will study archeological exhibits preserved at local museums and explore archeological sites in the provinces of Tay Ninh, Dong Nai,

Binh Phuoc, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City. The aim of this is to select prospective relic sites to be excavated next year.

The program, which will last three years, is funded by the Russian Fund for Humanities.
