PM Dung welcomed the first visit by a Moroccan PM since the two countries established diplomatic ties.

He informed his guest of Vietnam’s recent remarkable achievements in its renewal cause, affirming the nation’s consistent external policy of willingness to become a friend and a reliable partner of countries in the international community, for peace, independence and development.

The Moroccan PM affirmed that Morocco attaches importance to developing friendly and cooperative relations with Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.

The two leaders discussed how to make full use of the two countries’ potentials and expand bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, investment, cultural and tourism sectors.

They also praised the results of the first meeting of the Vietnam-Morocco Joint Committee held in March this year, and the signing of the agreement on double taxation avoidance between the two nations, which, they said, would provide a favourable legal framework for boosting bilateral trade cooperation.

The two PMs also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

They expressed their hope that the two countries will enhance information exchange, collaborate at international forums, such as the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, actively contribute to joint efforts for peace, stability, cooperation for development, for equal international relations and mutual benefits on the basis of respect for national sovereignty and independence and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs.

Nation’s leaders welcome Moroccan PM

Vietnam is willing to share its experiences with Morocco and hopes to raise the levels of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in accordance with their potential, said Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh while meeting with the visiting Moroccan Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, in Hanoi on Nov. 24.

The Party leader informed the Moroccan PM of Vietnam ’s current situation, achievements and challenges.

He thanked the Moroccan government and people for their valuable assistance to Vietnam. He asked the Moroccan PM to convey his invitation to visit Vietnam to King Mohamed VI of Morocco.

PM El Fassi expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’s past struggle for national independence. He praised Vietnam’s achievements and experience in its current process of renewal and national development, saying that the country’s prestige and role in the region and across the world has been markedly improved as a result.

The Moroccan PM informed Party General Secretary Manh of the outcomes of his talks and working sessions with a number of Vietnamese leaders.

He went on to emphasise the fact that Morocco attaches importance to further promoting the friendship, solidarity and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam for the benefit of their two peoples.

On the same day, during a meeting with the Moroccan PM, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his belief that this first visit to Vietnam by PM El Fassi would contribute to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco , particularly between their two parliaments.

Chairman Trong expressed his pleasure at recent progress in the two countries’ relations across a range of bilateral and multilateral matters.

The two countries have many similarities, both being developing nations, members of the community of French-speaking countries and members of the Non-Aligned Movement.

During the course of the meeting, Chairman Trong and PM El Fassi exchanged information regarding the two parliaments’ recent activities. They stressed their determination to promote cooperation between the two legislative bodies, contributing to the development of Vietnam-Morocco relations, for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.

Chairman Trong asked PM El Fassi to convey his invitation to visit Vietnam to the Moroccan parliamentary leader.
