WB, central bank sign $200 million rural finance pact

| Vietnamese farmers will have better access to credit under an agreement that the World Bank and the State Bank of Vietnam signed Friday in Hanoi. |
Under the agreement, US$200 million will be taken from the International Development Association (the World Bank’s concessional lending arm) for the Vietnam Third Rural Finance Project. A World Bank statement says that the project will provide investment loans to small enterprises with less than 50 employees, micro credit to rural populations and promote better financial services in rural areas.
