VietNamNet Bridge - The Thang Long Club celebrated its 30th founding anniversary on December 25.

Established on December 29, 1978, the club reserves for the high and middle - ranking officials who used to work for central and Hanoi city’s agencies.

The club has so far drawn a participation of over 10,000 members and organises around 250 days of discussion on specific themes, thus enabling its members to follow closely the domestic and international situations, have a good grasp of the Party’s line and policies and the State’s laws and regulations, raise their awareness of politics, culture, science and technology and so on.

Addressing the anniversary, Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee highly appreciated the club’s contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause as well as to the national and Hanoi construction.

He affirmed that part of achievements recorded so far by Hanoi in particular and the country in general should go to the contributions of so many predecessor generations, faithful revolutionaries who overcame so many difficulties and hardships in the resistance wars against anti-French colonialists and American imperialists.
