VietNamNet BridgeHungarian and Vietnamese enterprises still lack information about each other, said Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary at a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart in Ha Noi on Monday.

Dung added that the two countries have had a good, traditional and deep relationship for 60 years but many Hungarians, especially enterprises, still viewed Viet Nam as it was in the past.

As the result, many of them do not see the potential of business in Viet Nam and vice versa.

“The two sides need more trips to each other’s country to understand the opportunities of doing business,” said Dung.

According to Peter Amaczi, Business Development Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Vietnam, Viet Nam will be one of the fastest developing economies in the world by 2050 and one of five most attractive countries for investment. In addition, HCM City will be considered as the second most attractive market for real estate investment.

Ambassador Dung said, Vietnamese enterprises will find that Hungarian products are of good quality and reasonably priced for Vietnamese consumers.

Laszlo Vizi, Hungarian Ambassador said besides pharmaceutical products with high turnover, Hungary wants to have more trading including products and technologies in the agriculture and cooking industries; cooperation in ITC, electronics and machinery by applying advanced methods and technology transfers; taking part in infrastructure development projects from the stages of preparation, design, preparing pre-feasibility studies of projects and consultancy in the fields of public transportation, waste treatment, sewage treatment, environmental protection and water supply.

He also viewed Viet Nam as a logical choice as a newly emerging destination for Hungarian trade and investment, saying that the fine-tuning of Hungarian external economic relations on account of the global slowdown may actually bring along increased Hungarian business activities in Viet Nam.
