Hoi An Town in central Quang Nam Province and Kiama City in Australia’s New South Wales state have agreed to boost their friendship and multifaceted cooperation.

The Kiama Municipal Council and the Vietnamese General Consulate in Sydney held a meeting Friday to publicize the cooperation program between the two cities.

According to Kiama Mayor Sandra McCarthy, the two sides agreed to strengthen trade and production cooperation and encourage their enterprises to enter each other’s markets.

The two sides will also bolster ties in scientific and technological development, as well as in culture, sports and tourism.

Vietnamese Deputy Consul General Tran Quoc Khanh spoke highly of the relationship, saying that the model of cooperation between Kiama and Hoi An will bring about many opportunities for boosting bilateral ties between Vietnam and Australia.
