Manh said the formulation of Vietnam’s socio-economic strategy for 2011-2020 would require considering of party theories and its 20 years of experience in executing party policies.

The party central committee meeting was the ninth to be held by the Party Central Committee of the 10th Congress. The meeting was held to strengthen the party’s role in the national causes of industrialization and modernization.

Topping the meeting’s agenda was the fight against corruption and waste, and the work necessary to speed up the processes of industrialization and modernization, international integration and national construction and defense.

At the meeting, several key central committee and politburo positions were filled, including the promotion of central committee secretary and head of the party Commission of the Information and Education To Huy Rua to the politburo.
